2008 Wilberforce Lecture
Eon Media was commissioned to film this prestigious event which took place in the austere surroundings of Holy Trinity Church Hull amid tight security – a reflection of the high profile of the speaker. The subject of this years lecture was Order & Freedom in the 21st Century: ‘Foundations of Freedom: the Promise of the New Multilateralism’.
Hull is home to the Annual Wilberforce Public Lectures which are delivered by significant international figures on the general themes of freedom, democracy and human rights. The Annual Wilberforce Lecture was established in Hull in the early 1990’s. The lecture was shot in High Definition and supplied on DVD.
In 2007 the lecture was given by Dr John Sentamu – Archbishop of York.
