With the festivities almost upon us for another year it's time for our annual review of the highlights from here at Eon Towers over the last 12 months.
January saw the launch of our very own in-house print-to-digital mobile app - SmartPicture® which soon began to realise it's commercial potential with a number of contracts quickly being secured. January also saw the launch of a brand new look for our dedicated online TV channel HullKR TV to coincide with the new Super League season.
In February we produced an all new promotional video for multi-national industrial and marine generator supplier Allam Marine following their re-location to brand new premises. As well as demonstrating its new facilities the film also charts key milestones in the growth of the business and was first shown at a major exhibition in Dubai.
March saw industry recognition from the IVCA with a 'Highly Commended' accreditation for HullKR TV in the 'Best Regular Communications' category, whilst Eon Visual Media also notched up a 10th consecutive appearance in Televisual Magazine's annual top 50 survey of UK corporate producers.
In April we launched the PICO Pathways App. Specifically designed to meet the needs of Smith & Nephew's NPWT sales team, the PICO Pathways App was just one of a number of bespoke mobile Apps developed by our dedicated in-house team during 2013. April 23rd was the date for this years TEDxHull event. As media partner to TEDxHull 2013 Eon Visual Media directed and produced all AV during the event and recorded each of the presentations which were subsequently made available online at the TEDxHull website.
There was a distinctly sporting whiff about in May which saw us on hand to film the wild celebrations that marked Hull City's promotion back to the Premier League. May was also the date for the Allam British Open Squash Championships to which both Eon Visual Media and SmartPicture were official partners.
It was to London in June for the Scholl VIP Lounge event which was event managed and produced by Eon Visual Media for global household and healthcare giant Reckitt Benckiser. We were also in production of 'Click Clever' - a film designed to highlight the dangers of cyber bullying and online security to children. Elsewhere our camera teams also covered this years Yorkshire International Business Convention for production of a promotional DVD. High profile speakers at this years convention included Professor Brian Cox, Sir Terry Leahy, David Miliband and Lord Hestletine.
Windsor was the destination in July for the annual GRIP (Global Respiratory Infection Partnership) Summit with Eon Visual Media supplying camera crews and on-site editing facilities so that videos from each of the guest speaker presentations could be readily posted online and made available to those that were unable to attend the summit in person.
Our latest TV advertising campaign also went on air in July. Produced in conjunction with our friends at Eskimo Soup the campaign was the first of several to run throughout the year for Gretna Gateway Outlet Village. Meanwhile our commitment to local sport was underlined when Eon Visual Media announced a major sponsorship deal with Skrill Conference North team North Ferriby United.
More 'appiness prevailed into August with the design and build of a new web based app for carton producers Kingston Carton Limited. We also started production of a series of promotional videos for ultimate golf gaming centre OneStopGolf.
With September and kick-off to a season of Premier League football we launched an interactive football programme service whereby fans of Hull City could use SmartPicture® to link to an array of digital content from their seats simply by scanning their matchday programme.
The second phase of our TV advertising campaign for Gretna Gateway went on air in October. Click Clever was launched and SmartPicture® was short listed in the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards.
November was another smart month with new business for SmartPicture® coming from prestige car brand Infiniti. Oh, and by the way SmartPicture® triumphed in the Technology & Innovation category in business awards at the Hull Daily Mail.
And so to December which saw the launch of our interactive Christmas card with our personally recorded Christmas crackers - see the outakes video link.
Finally here's a bit of useful advice for the festive season. Throughout the year we've been working on a major project with the Gaviscon team at RB. We've developed a sequence of animated 3D graphics which show what happens in the stomach when heartburn and indigestion strike and how Gaviscon alleviates the acid reflux that causes the discomfort. It might be worth thinking about at about 4pm on December 25th!
The office will be closed on Dec 25, 26 and 31 as well as Jan 1. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2014. In the meantime here's wishing all our customers, suppliers, associates and friends all our very best wishes for Christmas and a happy New Year.
